 The ABRSM has an extremely complex system for candidates entering for music exams. I redesigned all their entry forms (1) and supplementary information (2) in 2000, and have revised and updated them since as their systems have changed. They are printed in two colours. (3) shows one of the original forms. |
I enjoy the challenge of designing forms so that they feel approachable and have a consistency and logic. The layout frequently has to take account of an existing database entry system which require information to be presented in a particular format or order. I believe that text is as much the designer's job as layout and imagery, and will suggest alternative forms of words in order to clarify what the applicant is being asked forOn occasions I add a diagram to help understanding, or a calendar to explain a complicated set of dates.
